AI connector
A free MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other assistants. Describe a client or your week in plain words; the assistant runs the numbers and links you to the finished tool.

One URL, no account, no API key.
Server URL: https://useretainer.com/mcp/ (Streamable HTTP, no authentication).
claude mcp add --transport http retainer https://useretainer.com/mcp/{ "url": "https://useretainer.com/mcp/" }. For clients that only support local servers, use npx -y mcp-remote https://useretainer.com/mcp/.Tools
Five tools. Each one is read-only and returns a link to the filled-in page.
map_stakeholders. Sorts the people on a client account onto a power/interest grid: manage closely, keep satisfied, keep informed, monitor, with what to do for each group.
Try: “Map the stakeholders on my Northwind account: the CFO signs the renewal but rarely joins calls, the VP Ops sponsors the project, an analyst uses our dashboards daily.”
calculate_consulting_rate. Works out minimum and recommended hourly rates, a day rate, and a suggested monthly retainer or project day rate from an income goal.
Try: “I want to take home $150k a year and bill about 25 hours a week. What should my monthly retainer be?”
check_capacity. Checks whether there is room for another client: available billable hours, utilization, and whether you are under target, over target, or overcommitted.
Try: “I have 28 hours a week committed to clients and spend about 15 on admin and sales. Can I take on another client?”
rank_client_profitability. Ranks clients by revenue per hour and flags the ones earning below your average.
Try: “Rank my clients: Verta pays $8k/month for 20 hours, Calix $10k for 42 hours, Aldgate $4.5k for 6 hours.”
find_neglected_relationships. Sorts contacts by days since your last real conversation (healthy, 30+, 60+, 90+) with a suggested next step for each.
Try: “Who should I follow up with? Sarah Chen last spoke to me Sep 20, Marc Renaud Jul 25, Julien Morel in early March.”
Privacy and support
Nothing you send is stored.
The connector computes each answer and sends it back. It keeps only a usage count per call (which tool, how many items, which app, and when), never the names, numbers, or notes you sent. Links carry your inputs after the “#”, which browsers do not send to our server. Details are in the privacy policy, and use is covered by the terms of service.
